Qianyi Luo

Qianyi developed her interest in sensory analysis through a part-time job as a server at an ice cream shop. She was responsible for handing out samples to customers and guiding them in making choices. She was surprised by how different people perceived flavors so differently. As a result, she became interested in learning how to develop products for large groups of people with diverse tastes. In addition, through her observations at work, she noticed that many customers’ choices were influenced by their identity. She wants to learn more about this and study whether personal identity influences flavor perception or flavor preferences.
